Correlation of Neck Circumference with Cardio-Metabolic Risk Factors in a Tertiary Care Centre
In patients with hypertension, the relationship between neck circumference and cardiovascular risk factor needs to be identified. Patients having a diagnosis of hypertension were Included in this study who received treatment at our hospital. We collected anthropometric measurements (height, weight, neck circumference, and waist circumference) and biochemical markers (fasting blood glucose, 2-hour postprandial glucose, LDL-C, HDL-C, and HbAlc). These variables were analyzed to assess their relationships with hypertension and to identify potential risk markers within the patients. Cardio-metabolic risk factors refer to a set of interrelated variables that elevate the likelihood of developing cardiovascular diseases and metabolic conditions, including type 2 diabetes. These factors are typically interconnected and can mutually influence one another. Some of the common cardio-metabolic risk factors include: Obesity, Hyper tension, Dyslipidaemia, Insulin Resistance, Diabetes, Sedentary Lifestyle, Unhealthy Diet, Smoking, Family History & Age and Gender
