IoT-Enabled Real-Time Vaccine Storage Monitoring and Alert System

To preserve potency and efficacy, vaccines must be transported and stored at a precise temperature. A large number of vaccines have been wasted as a result of ineffective cold chain management, particularly in rural and underdeveloped areas. An IoT-enabled real-time vaccine storage monitoring and alarm system is presented in this research to guarantee ideal temperature conditions while vaccines are being transported. The system uses a thermoelectric cooling module, temperature sensors, and an STM32 Blue Pill microcontroller to keep storage temperatures between +2°C and +8°C. An ESP8266 Wi-Fi module sends data to a cloud-based platform for analysis and real-time monitoring. Healthcare professionals can take prompt corrective action when temperature variations are detected using the system's mobile alerting feature. This automated approach improves cold chain management, boosts vaccine distribution efficiency, and drastically lowers human error as compared to conventional paper-based monitoring techniques. Blockchain technology for improved data security and traceability and machine learning for predictive analytics may be combined in future developments.
