Cost Distribution in ICT Infrastructure During the AI Era: A Model for Data Centers, Power Grids, and Telecommunications
The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies has transformed the landscape of information and communication technology (ICT), necessitating a reevaluation of cost distributions across critical infrastructures. This paper aims to analyze the financial implications and distribution of expenses among data centers, power grids, and telecommunications infrastructure in the current AI era. Through a comprehensive review of existing literature and empirical data, we propose an indicative percentage distribution model applicable to countries of varying sizes and market dynamics. The model considers factors such as energy consumption patterns, hardware investments, and operational costs associated with AI deployment. By synthesizing insights from different regions and market scales, this study highlights the need for tailored approaches to cost management in ICT infrastructure. The findings reveal that while data centers typically incur the highest costs due to their reliance on advanced hardware and cooling systems, power grids face significant expenses related to energy supply and sustainability initiatives. Telecommunications infrastructure, while generally less costly than data centers, is crucial for enabling connectivity and supporting AI applications. The proposed model serves as a framework for policymakers and industry stakeholders to optimize resource allocation and enhance the sustainability of ICT investments in the context of AI-driven growth.
