AI based Energy Optimization and Analysis of Textile Mill Through Energy Audit
Textile mills are the large energy consuming sectors where as the energy can be optimized through energy audit and analsysis. This can reduce their the fixed and variable chargers in energy cost. Energy was audited and analyzed with high-tech energy auditing equipment to measure energy profiles, leakages, and parameters like pressure and temperature. Information from energy measurement devices, primary and secondary sources, and equipment specifications indicated that the facility consumes approximately 56 lakh units per year at a billing cost of ₹6 crore. Optimization suggestions made savings of ₹34 lakh per year without investments and estimated additional savings of ₹40 lakh to ₹1 crore with investments on power factor correction and solar energy systems. A clear analysis of the six screw compressors (90 kW to 250 kW, including VFDs) indicated good performance and maintenance. The audit indicated energy savings of ₹15.46 lakh per year, which requires an investment of ₹6.7 lakh with a payback period of 0.43 years. Annual energy savings of 1,54,668 kWh were estimated along with suggestions for further improvements. This audit emphasizes the importance of energy audits in making cost savings operational, sustainable, and energy efficient in textile mils.
