Performance Analysis of a CSRR-Based Metamaterial for Multiband Antenna Applications

A circular-shaped multiband antenna using Complementary Split-Ring Resonator (CSRR) metamaterial is designed to enhance modern communication systems. Operating across multiple bands, including a primary operating frequency of 2.45 GHz, the antenna is designed on an FR4 substrate with (εr = 4.4 and a height of 3.6 mm) and features circular patch antennas with strategically placed slots and CSRR unit cells. This compact multiband design achieves a gain of 4.25 dB, directivity of 6.56 dB, and moderate bandwidth enhancements. To accommodate a variety of applications, the proposed design functions effectively across several frequency bands, including 2.32, 4.2, 5.31, 6.32, and 7.38 GHz. To effectively fulfill the demands of next-generation systems, the antenna's multiband capabilities make it the perfect choice for Wi-Fi, LTE, radar, and satellite communication applications.
