Smart Implementation of an IoT-Based Automatic Phase Selection System
Phase fault is a frequent issue in industries, homes, and offices, where one or more phases may be in fault condition. This causes some appliances to work while others do not, disrupting daily activities. As power demand grows, interruptions lead to damage to appliances and safety risks. These problems occur due to single-phase faults in the distribution system, where power is present in other phases but remains unusable. Therefore, there is a need for an automatic system to switch between phases or to an auxiliary supply during a phase failure. In this research work, a Arduino Uno based automatic phase changeover switch with relay-based phase selection and cloud integration for real-time updates is designed and developed. It automatically switches to the active phase when available, and if no phases are active, no power is supplied. The microcontroller switches to the available phase based on programmed logic.
