Adaptive Design and Implementation of Smart Irrigation System for Precision Agriculture: A Novel Approach

Sensor node placement in the agriculture field faces some challenges due to vegetation. The design and implementation of Smart Irrigation for Precision Agriculture. This paper proposes a novel architecture of IoT-based adaptive design and implementation of a smart irrigation system for precision agriculture. The designed system includes adequate measurements of humidity, temperature and moisture, and the camera detects the disease in the crops and recommends suitable pesticides. This proposed method minimizes human involvement in absolute system automation. Energy Supplement Ad Hoc On-Demand Multipath Distance Vector (ES-AOMDV) routing protocol is is employed to facilitate communication between sensor nodes and the base station, enhancing network longevity and Quality of Service (QoS) parameters. Data collected from the sensors is stored and monitored on a cloud server via a Raspberry Pi, enabling global accessibility; therefore, any changes in the agro field are conveyed to the former via SMS. The proposed system helps efficiently use resources to overcome conventional agricultural procedures' restrictions and reduces labor costs.
