Enhancing MIMO Performance with Channel State Information in Open Air Interface for 5G Network
Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) technology boosts network performance by utilizing multiple antennas to transmit and receive more data simultaneously. OpenAirInterface (OAI) provides an invaluable toolset for researchers and developers to experiment with various transmission strategies such as MIMO and Channel State Information (CSI), ensuring that next-generation wireless systems meet the demanding requirements of 5 G and beyond. The integration of MIMO and CSI within OAI for 5G network simulation allows the performance enhancement of transmission strategies. This paper evaluates performance of MIMO transmission strategy in the OAI simulator. By leveraging realtime CSI feedback, MIMO systems can be optimized to enhance connectivity, increase data throughput, coverage, reliability and reduce latency for the performance of 5G NR networks. The simulation results indicate that the signal strength and rank indicator in MIMO is more than SISO in OAI which is aligning with theory.
