Study of Chemical Reactions of Refractory Metals in Molten Salts by Electrochemical Transient Techniques

Processes of electrodeposition and electrochemical synthesis are in many cases accompanied by chemical reactions. In the present work, comproportionation, disproportionation, displacement, cluster formation, heteronuclea r complex formation, polymerization, competitive complex formation, acidic-basic, and current less transfer reactions have been studied by electrochemical transient techniques. The effect of chemical reactions on the composition of electrolysis products is discussed and methods of suppressing the reactions complicating the electrolysis processes are suggested. The results of the synthesis of functional materials using chemical reactions are presented.
