A FISIOTERAPIA APLICADA NA PREVENÇÃO DE QUEDA DE IDOSOS

This study aimed, according to Bloom’s taxonomy, to analyze the effectiveness of physiotherapy in preventing falls in the elderly, identifying the main strategies used and the challenges in adherence to these interventions. The research was conducted to understand the role of physiotherapy in preventing falls in the elderly through a qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive approach based on a bibliographic review. For this purpose, scientific articles published in the last ten years in databases such as PubMed, SciELO, and LILACS were analyzed, using keywords extracted from DeCS. The inclusion criteria considered indexed studies that specifically addressed physiotherapy in the prevention of falls in elderly individuals aged 60 years or older, with a clear and reproducible methodology. On the other hand, articles without access to the full text, lacking a defined methodology, or dealing only with post-fall treatment without a focus on prevention were excluded. The search was conducted using terms such as physiotherapy, fall prevention, elderly, postural balance, and rehabilitation. As results, it was found that physiotherapy applied to fall prevention in the elderly proved to be an essential tool for ensuring safety and quality of life for this population. The implementation of structured programs, combined with innovative and multidisciplinary approaches, significantly reduced the incidence of falls and promoted a healthier and more active aging process. It was concluded that combining physiotherapy with cognitive stimuli and social activities showed significant benefits in elderly safety, enhancing functional gains and promoting a more active aging process. Additionally, innovative technologies, such as the use of virtual reality in rehabilitation, opened new possibilities for motor training, providing an interactive and motivating environment for patients.
