La caridad, madre y forma de la penitencia: virtud en el sacramento
At present there is a perceived disconnection of penance both from daily Christian life and between moral and sacramental theology. The aim is to find the common root of penance as a virtue and as a sacrament in charity. Following St. Thomas Aquinas, it will be charity as conversive friendship that allows us to unify the movements of the virtue of penance from interior penance or contrition. In this way, virtue and sacrament proceed from the Paschal Mystery of Christ and lead to the Glory of the Father. Penance enables reconciliation in the Church and in the world.
