Structure and mechanical properties of hydroxyapatite coating deposited on nitrogen-modified titanium surface
The formation of a porous hydroxyapatite coating on commercially pure titanium during combined processing: gas nitriding and plasma electrolytic oxidation was studied. It was established that the coating with the thickness of 70–80 mkm, deposited on the nitrogen-modified titanium surface, provides a Young’s modulus close to the elasticity modulus of a cortical bone, which will accelerate the bone in growth and the interfacial connection between implants and bones.
