The Grammar of Reality
This paper proposes that the foundational processes underlying both material and conceptual phenomena share a common grammar: Distinctions, Systems, Relationships, and Perspectives (DSRP). DSRP is presented not as a metaphorical or epistemic model, but as a structural ontology—a recursive, generative pattern by which reality organizes itself across scale. Rather than treating structure as static or emergent from external laws, DSRP formalizes the process of organization itself: how identities arise, systems form, relationships co-define, and perspectives shape what is seen. This framing aligns with philosophical traditions that prioritize process over substance, including autopoiesis 1, process metaphysics 2, and relational interpretations of quantum mechanics and information theory. A structural isomorphism table is presented to demonstrate DSRP’s presence in quantum systems, molecular chemistry, biological life, cognition, culture, and society. The paper contributes to structural realism 3 by offering DSRP as a universal, scale-invariant grammar of organization underlying the very fabric of reality.
