THE STRUCTURE AND COMPOSITION OF THE MODIFIED SURFACE LAYER AS A SET OF FUNCTIONAL BARRIER SUBLAYERS TO IMPROVE THE PERFORMANCE OF TOOLS MADE OF CERMET HARD STEELS
A method for improving the performance of a blade cutting tool made of ceramic-metal hard alloys by developing the structure and composition of a modified surface layer is considered. A block diagram of an algorithm for predicting the existence and properties of binary compounds formed in the surface layer of instrumental materials during its modification is being developed. Based on the prediction of the existence of possible synthesized compounds and an assessment of their physico-mechanical and operational properties, possible elements that are necessary for the formation of functional layers of the modified surface of cermet carbide tools are determined.
