Tests and Simulations for an On-Orbit Micrometeoroid Detector
Abstract In the previous conference a concept and a preliminary test were presented, as well as the computational work to design a new MMOD sensor. The concept consists of a system with two additively manufactured plates separated by a small distance and instrumented with 8 strain gages in the front and 8 in the back. Now that the project has been completed, results from the eight final tests performed are presented together with 3D CTH simulations performed for each of the tests.
