Enhancing Emergency Healthcare Accessibility via Mobile-Based Bed and Ambulance Management

The COVID-19 pandemic exposed major inefficiencies in healthcare systems, particularly in emergency response and hospital bed management. Manual coordination, delayed updates, and poor resource allocation negatively impact patient care. Additionally, the lack of an efficient ambulance tracking and scheduling system leads to longer response times and avoidable deaths. To address these issues, this study proposes a comprehensive Android application that integrates ambulance tracking and hospital bed reservation. The system provides real-time updates on bed availability, enabling patients and medical staff to make informed decisions quickly. A GPS-based ambulance booking system allows users to request ambulances, track them in real time, and ensure optimal routing for faster response. By automatically locating the nearest available ambulance and guiding it along the most efficient path, the application reduces response times and improves patient survival rates. It also integrates automated location sharing via GSM, ensuring seamless communication between hospitals, ambulance services, and patients. This minimizes delays caused by manual address inputs and location errors. The proposed system enhances healthcare accessibility, optimizes resource allocation, and strengthens emergency preparedness. Through automated resource management, it improves patient outcomes and crisis response efficiency.
