Smart Carbon Capture: Converting Traffic-Generated CO2 into Solid Carbon for Sustainable Applications

CO2 emissions are continually increasing, and mitigation strategies urgently, effectively, and importantly require global sustainability. So far, available solutions include direct air capture and storage technologies that boast of high costs, high energy requirements, and limitations in scaling up. To overcome the above limitations, we introduce a novel dual-component system. The proposed solution is a device that captures CO2 emissions as a solid carbon and a purification system that uses activated charcoal for the efficient separation of CO2. Combining carbon capture and utilization processes with CCU-activated charcoal technology, this solution provides a cost-effective alternative to conventional modes of carbon mitigation techniques, scalable and sustainable. This system also generates repurposable solid carbon for industrial applications, which enhances project feasibility. This approach provides a practical pathway toward significant reductions in CO2 emissions while contributing to global efforts to combat climate change.
