Performance Evaluation and Fault Recovery Strategy for 9 Bus System
This paper presents a comprehensive evaluation of the performance and fault recovery strategies for a 9-bus power system, focusing on enhancing system stability and resilience. The study examines the system's operational performance under both normal and fault conditions by analyzing key metrics such as voltage profiles, power flows, and system stability indices. Normal operating conditions are analyzed with voltage magnitudes maintained at approximately 1.02 p.u. and power flows around 50 MW. Under fault conditions, including line outages and generator failures, the system's response is simulated to assess recovery effectiveness. In case, line outages lead to voltage drops to 0.95 per unit (pu), while generator failures cause temporary power imbalances of up to 10 MW. A novel fault recovery strategy is proposed, incorporating real-time monitoring and adaptive control techniques, which improves fault tolerance. Simulation results demonstrate that this strategy enhances system resilience by reducing recovery times from 30 minutes to approximately 15 minutes and stabilizes voltage within 0.98 pu. The findings offer actionable insights into optimizing fault management protocols and improving the reliability and efficiency of power systems. This research contributes to the field by validating an approach that significantly enhances the resilience and operational stability of power networks in the face of disturbances. Additionally, the paper explores the integration of advanced control measures to support the dynamic stability of power systems under varied operational conditions.
