Intelligent Maritime Boundary Protection System for Fishermen Utilizing GPS and Engine Control
The goal of this undertaking is to safeguard the lives of fishermen by utilizing RF technology and GPS. GPS is used to track the current location of the boat, and if the fisherman crosses the predefined boundary, an alarm sound is triggered. Additionally, the relay circuit will reverse the boat's direction. RF technology facilitates communication between the fisherman and the IoT (Internet of Things) station, enabling real-time data exchange. In this system, location-based alarm services are essential for fishermen due to poor weather conditions and the limitations of existing rescue technologies. Fishermen often face life-threatening situations, especially when venturing near neighboring countries or crossing hazardous boundaries. To address this issue, we propose a low-cost and simple GPS beacon designed for fishermen, enabling them to be tracked by their family members, friends, and fellow fishermen. If a fisherman crosses the boundary, an alert will be sent to all other fishermen in the vicinity, allowing them to provide help if the fisherman has crossed mistakenly or due to boat failure. In addition, the system utilizes RSSI-based detection to assess the signal strength from the GPS beacon and adjust the alerting process based on proximity, ensuring that the alert notifications are system is designed with two independent units: a tracking unit and a monitoring unit. The tracking unit constantly sends location updates, while the monitoring unit is responsible for processing and sending alerts if any fisherman crosses the boundary. The integration of RSSI data helps refine the detection range, ensuring that the alerts are triggered efficiently, even in challenging conditions. This system provides critical indications to both fishermen and coastal watchers, alerting them to potential safety concerns. It ensures that the lives of fishermen are protected, and that the IoT base station receives timely alerts for providing assistance. In doing so, the system helps prevent fishermen from crossing dangerous borders and provides a more robust safety net in emergency situations.
