Plastic Remediation in Rural Water Bodies
Plastic contamination in rural water bodies is a growing global concern. This project proposes an innovative approach using Hybrid Remotely Operated Vehicles (HROVs) to address this issue. The guiding research question is: How can HROVs effectively detect, collect, and manage Plastic contamination in rural water bodies? HROVs combine the precision of Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) with the autonomy of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs), enabling comprehensive Plastic detection and collection. The methodology involves designing HROVs equipped with advanced sensors for Plastic detection and robust filtration systems. These vehicles operate autonomously to survey targeted areas, collect Plastic samples, and transmit real-time data for analysis.
