IoT-Enabled Proactive LPG gas Surveillance and Alert System

Most rural homes struggle with cooking gas, such as rapid consumption, undetected gas leaks, and poor fuel efficiency. This results in safety risks, unforeseen shortages, wastage, and high expenditure. Inconspicuousness of the fuel usage hinders users in preparing for a refill and not knowing how to economise. To address the problem of gas cooking management, a smart gas system is applied directly to the gas trolley through a load sensor to sense the level of gas and report in real-time. The system also has a leak detector using an MQ-6 sensor, and SMS notifications are sent to users in case of a leak. It also monitors daily fuel usage to optimise use and minimise waste. An application interface is integrated to allow users to monitor LPG levels, observe daily usage, and get leakage detection notifications. The system also facilitates automatic re-booking of gas, enhancing safety, ensuring refills, and improving gas management in rural regions.
