Data-Driven Insights into Smoking Habits Among Students in Bangladesh: A Qualitative Analysis

This study examines nicotine dependence among students in Bangladesh through qualitative research. We aim to understand individuals’ motivations, social dynamics, and perceptions, and how these factors influence smoking behavior. The paper utilizes in-depth interviews with this population, followed by thematic analysis to explore the multidimensional nature of smoking behavior within this subgroup. The findings highlight cultural characteristics, peer influence, stress management strategies, and individual perceptions of smoking cessation. The significance of this study extends beyond designing tailored interventions aimed at reducing tobacco consumption among 18-25-year-olds in Bangladesh. It also emphasizes the need to develop approaches that consider the unique characteristics of this age group, as it is often associated with experimentation.
