An End-to-End E-waste Collection and Sorting System for Optimized Flow Regulation - from End-of-Life to Processing

E-waste recycling has become a dying need in the current circumstances across the globe. Because of the rising use of modern electronics, the rise of Waste Electrical and Electronic equipment is getting out of hand. The problem worsens due to the lack of intelligent collection and effective sorting of items - items that can promote a circular economy and optimize the e-waste sorting and processing further. The need for an end-to-end system to effectively promote a circular economy and meet sustainability goals is of tantamount importance. The paper lays the groundwork for an end-to-end e-waste collection and sorting system using QR codes. It highlights a generalized submission system embedded into an online portal that can help with e-waste facility recommendations. Also, the study highlights the use of machine learning algorithms that can help with automated sorting and segregation processes in a generalized e-waste management facility. The combination of these ideas can largely contribute to meeting sustainability goals.
