Intelligent Illumination-A Machine Learning Enhanced Street Light

Smarter devices pave the way for numerous innovative applications that enhance societal well-being. This proposed system introduces a modular street lighting solution designed to tackle environmental, energy, and public safety challenges. By integrating LED modules, cameras, and the YOLO (You Only Look Once) deep learning algorithm for image processing, the system can perform real-time detection and classification of vehicles and pedestrians. It dynamically adjusts the brightness of streetlights based on detected motion and activity levels, dimming the lights when the area is inactive or sufficiently illuminated by natural light, and brightening them when movement is detected to prioritize safety. This advanced approach ensures precise and adaptive streetlight control, promoting both energy conservation and public security.
