A Smart Underwater Robot for Research, Rescue, and Water Quality Monitoring
A highly advanced remote-controlled IOT-based underwater robot designed for advanced applications in underwater research, exploration, inspection, coastal rescue operations, and water quality assessment to enhance aquaculture monitoring and optimize fishing practices is described in this paper. A comprehensive suite of sensors, including Potential of Hydrogen (pH), temperature, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), and turbidity sensors, are employed for water quality monitoring. Equipped with a Pi Camera, it streams live video for real-time monitoring. A dedicated mobile application has been designed to display various water quality metrics from the underwater environment. Utilizing this robotic technology, comprehensive data analysis has been performed on six different water bodies, including Turag River, Buriganga River, Shitalakshya River, Diabari Lake, Purbachal Lake, and Tongi Khal, uncovering differences in water quality, indicating pollution and aquaculture influences. This intelligent underwater robot is poised to play a pivotal role in exploring, studying, and performing tasks that are challenging or impossible for humans to undertake directly.
