Progressive Flood Anticipation and Vehicular Safety System
Urban flooding threatens the infrastructure, assets, and transportation networks, resulting in serious economic and personal losses. A vehicle protection and flood warning system is proposed here with a combination of real-time weather data, geolocation services, and mobile technology to mitigate damage to vehicles during a flood. The system uses rainfall prediction APIs to monitor the weather conditions and the Google Maps API to identify and navigate to high-elevation parking zones, ensuring timely alerts and actionable guidance for the users. Additionally, real-time route navigation is provided, guiding users from flood-prone zones to the nearest safe parking zones, dynamically updating based on traffic conditions, road accessibility, and changing flood risks. The system impacts urban flood resilience and helps in proactive disaster preparedness by an integrated system of automated alerts, geospatial intelligence, and navigation. The results confirmed its effectiveness, being of high accuracy regarding flood alerts, seamless navigation, and reliability in the user experience.
