Development of Electronically Tunable Dual-Mode Phase Equalizer Using Single Operational Transconductance Amplifier with Buffer
In this paper, an operational transconductance amplifier with buffer based electronically tunable dual-mode phase equalizer, which plays an important role in phase equalization, has been presented. In addition to operational transconductance amplifier with buffer, the presented design also utilized a metal-oxide semiconductor transistor-based active resistor and a capacitor. The proposed design offers exceptional versatility, allowing it to operate in both voltage-mode and current-mode, which enhances its distinctiveness. Non-ideal conditions, parasitic effects, as well as stability concerns, are included to examine the real-time performance of the proposed design. The theoretical performance of the proposed work is validated by the post-layout simulation using the Cadence Virtuoso suite with the gpdk 0.18 μm library and a ±1 V power supply. The relevance of the proposed design has been emphasized by using Monte-Carlo analysis to investigate the impacts of capacitor variations as well as the temperature variations. Besides employing various workability examinations, a quadrature sinusoidal oscillator is also included to show the practicality of the proposed design.
