Designing an optimal organic waste supply chain
Organic waste currently accounts for 75% of daily waste production. In Semarang City, particularly in the Kelurahan Jabungan area, baru ke lvl 60awhere the NRC conducts its activities and where there is a high level of awareness for environmental concerns and preparedness in all areas. To increase NRC's output, this research will map out where trash suppliers may be located in Kelurahan Jabungan and then create a supply chain that links those providers with NRC's final consumers. After analysing the data using Solver and the Least Cost technique, NRC has chosen to expand its production capacity from 1 workshop to 3 workshops. This will allow them to meet a monthly demand of 28,685 kg of animal feed, while workshop 1 may still produce 7,528 kg of waste. The distribution of potential organic waste supplier points in Kelurahan Jabungan is currently divided into 13 neighborhoods (RW). The current waste transportation flow in Kelurahan Jabungan is that organic waste from each household (KK) is transported using a pick-up for residential areas or a single truck for village areas to be disposed of at the Jatibarang landfill. The NRC supply chain network was then simulated using ARENA to validate the selected supply chain.
