External stimuli responsive syneresis of amino acid-based bioactive hydrogels: a sustainable platform for environmental remediation
Fmoc-3-(1-naphthyl)- l -alanine and Fmoc-3-(2-naphthyl)- l -alanine form stable bioactive hydrogels individually. Removal of toxic heavy metal ions (Hg II ) and toxic dye (Thioflavin T) from waste-water by stimuli responsive syneresis has been portrayed.
