Formation of Information and Communication Competence of a Chemistry Teacher in an Inclusive Educational Environment
The article addresses the issue of improving the quality of education through the development of information and communication competence (ICC) among chemistry teachers working in inclusive educational settings. The author emphasizes that global challenges – in particular, the war in Ukraine – have intensified the need for building a comprehensive ecosystem of digital solutions in education. This includes the creation of a safe, electronic, and inclusive learning environment, the provision of adequate digital infrastructure in institutions, the enhancement of teachers’ digital competencies, and the broader digital transformation of educational processes and services. The article clarifies and analyzes the concepts of information and communication competence and inclusive educational environment. It presents the results of an online survey on the ICC level of chemistry teachers working with visually impaired students. The study reviews and provides a recommended list of digital platforms and tools that can contribute to the qualitative improvement of teachers' information and communication competence. The findings confirm that a high level of digital competence in inclusive settings diversifies the educational process, makes it more engaging and accessible, and enriches the pedagogical environment with new opportunities. This, in turn, enables the active involvement of every student and fosters the realization of their individual potential.
