CONFORMITY TEST OF REFERENCE AIR KERMA RATE (RAKR) FOR BRACHYTHERAPY DEVICE IN RADIOTHERAPY SUB-INSTALLATIONS OF CENTRAL GENERAL HOSPITAL PROF. DR. I.G.N.G. NGOERAH
Brachytherapy is a radiotherapy method that inserts a radiation source into the patient's body. As part of brachytherapy treatment planning, there is a Treatment Planning System (TPS) stage which uses a computer system to calculate the dose received by the patient based on the radiation source strength parameter which is represented by the Reference Air Kerma Rate (RAKR) value. Therefore, a conformity test was carried out between the RAKR value of the manufacturer's certification and the value of the RAKR measurement results carried out at the Radiotherapy Sub-Installation of Central General Hospital Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah uses a SAGINOVA/ECKERT ZIEGLER brand brachytherapy machine. From the results of measurements carried out from December 2023 to March 2024, it was found that the percentage difference between the manufacturer's certification RAKR value and the RAKR measurement result value consecutively are -1.96%; -2.69%; -2.53%; -2.42%. These percentages were still within the acceptable limits according to AAPM Report No. 46 of 1994, namely in the range of ±3%.
