THE EFFECT OF CONCRETE COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH ON MIXTURE AND CURING USING RIVER WATER
Concrete is a construction material that plays a crucial role in various infrastructure projects. The quality of concrete is significantly influenced by its mixture components and curing methods. This study aims to analyze the effect of concrete compressive strength using different mixture variations and curing with river water. The research method involves laboratory experiments by preparing cube-shaped concrete samples immersed in river water for 3 and 7 days. Compressive strength tests were conducted using a compression testing machine. The results indicate that the longer the curing duration, the higher the compressive strength due to the continuous cement hydration process. However, concrete cured in river water exhibited lower compressive strength compared to concrete cured in clean water. This phenomenon is attributed to the presence of minerals and chemical compounds in river water that may hinder the cement hydration reaction. The findings of this study are expected to provide insights into the use of river water in concrete curing processes and offer technical recommendations for construction projects.
