Research Progress of JMJD3 in Cardiovascular Diseases

In recent years, cardiovascular diseases have become one of the leading causes of human death worldwide, with the highest mortality rate among all diseases. Epigenetic mechanisms such as DNA methylation and histone modification play significant roles in the occurrence and development of cardiovascular diseases. JMJD3, a histone demethylase containing the JmjC domain, has been extensively studied in multiple fields including embryonic development, cell differentiation, aging, immune system function, neurodegenerative diseases, and cancer. However, current research on the specific role of JMJD3 in cardiovascular diseases is still limited. Therefore, this article aims to review the latest research progress of JMJD3 in cardiovascular diseases, with the expectation of providing a theoretical basis for future in-depth exploration of the potential application of JMJD3 in cardiovascular diseases.
