Sustainable development of suburban settlements on the example of the Vinnytsia city united territorial community

The article considers the main challenges facing suburban settlements, in particular uncontrolled development, environmental problems, insufficient infrastructure and risks of transport congestion. The importance of an integrated approach to the management of the territory, taking into account economic, social and environmental aspects, is also considered. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the impact of this process on social balance, urban planning and resource efficiency. The study of these issues aims to find optimal mechanisms for the integration of suburban areas, which will ensure the harmonious development of both cities and adjacent territories. Vinnytsia United Territorial Community (UTC) has significant potential for sustainable development due to its favorable location, developed infrastructure and economic ties with the city. Environmental safety and conservation of natural areas play an important role in the strategy of sustainable development. The introduction of green areas, eco-parks, the development of an environmental monitoring system and the use of environmentally friendly technologies are priorities for Vinnytsia UTC. Infrastructural development of suburban areas is also an important component of sustainable development. It provides for the modernization of the road transport system, the improvement of public transport, the development of bicycle infrastructure and the creation of pedestrian zones. The socio-economic development of suburban areas involves the support of small and medium-sized businesses, the development of the agro-industrial complex and the introduction of modern technologies in production. For Vinnytsia UTC, it is necessary to provide for an even distribution of social infrastructure between the urban and suburban parts of the community. It is also established that sustainable development of suburban areas is impossible without effective management of resources and public involvement in the decision-making process.
