Clinicopathological significance of updated Oxford classification in renal allograft IgA nephropathy, a retrospective study in an Indian cohort with clinicopathological correlations and outcome
Interstitial fibrosis/tubular atrophy and segmental sclerosis were indicators of poor graft survival. Patients with combined lesions, particularly chronic lesions progress significantly faster to end-stage kidney disease. Patients with endocapillary hypercellularity had improved outcomes when treated with adequate immunosuppression. We conclude that the updated oxford classification be used for prognostication in addition to the Banff criteria being already in use.
