Stresul oxidativ în displazia bronhopulmonară la copiii născuți prematur
Bronchopulmonary dysplasia begins in the neonatal period and is responsible for recurrent respiratory morbidity, chronic bronchopulmonary diseases of the child. The purpose of the research - evaluation of biochemical markers of oxidative stress in children with bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD). A cohort study was conducted that included 41 children with a history of preterm birth and postnatal oxygen therapy in respiratory distress who achieved BPD. The comparative study with preterm infants who did not perform BPD (40 infants) identified a 4.86-fold , p<0.001, increase in total pro-oxidant activity and a significant 62%, p<0.001, increase in malondialdehyde content in children. With BPD, but also a 12%, p<0.001, reduction in nitric oxide. Children with bronchopulmonary dysplasia show disorders of the redox status by triggering oxidative/nitrosative stress, which are included in the pathogenic mechanisms of chronic bronchopulmonary processes in children born prematurely.
