Late Dumping syndrome as a complication following G-POEM in idiopathic gastroparesis
We present the case of a 54-year-old woman with refractory idiopathic gastroparesis who developed late dumping syndrome following gastric peroral endoscopic myotomy (G-POEM). After resolution of her digestive symptoms, she experienced postprandial hypoglycemic episodes with autonomic symptoms that persisted for several months, leading to a diagnosis of late dumping syndrome. With dietary management, the patient showed favorable progress without the need for pharmacological treatment. This case highlights late dumping syndrome as a potential and likely underrecognized complication following G-POEM, and emphasizes the importance of its recognition and management.
