Management of Herpes Zoster infection over the face through Ayurveda adjunct to conventional medication: A case report
This case report discusses the successful management of a 67-year-old patient suffering from herpes zoster infection using a combination of Ayurveda oral medicines. The patient presented with lesions on the right side of the face, including involvement of the right eye and was experiencing severe pain associated with burning sensation. Despite taking four days of allopathic treatment, the symptoms persisted, and the patient visited the Ayurveda hospital. The patient was administered with Twaqure ® , a polyherbal ointment, along with Ayurveda oral medications ( Kaishora guggulu and Mahamanjishthadi kashaya ), adjunct to conventional medication, which led to a rapid resolution of the lesions and relief from the symptoms. This case highlights the potential of integrating Ayurveda therapies with conventional treatments for managing herpes zoster infections effectively.
