ESTADO DO CONHECIMENTO SOBRE A NATAÇÃO INFANTIL

This research aimed to map, discuss and analyze the scientific production on children's swimming, focusing on articles published in portuguese in scientific journals, and aims to answer the following question: How is the scientific production in portuguese on children's swimming organized? To this end, the state of knowledge was used as a methodology, using scientific articles on children's swimming available in the virtual search engines SciELO, Scholar.google and Periódicos Capes as the research source. Based on the division of thematic categories, the results indicated the main objects of scientific research that have been published and signaled children's swimming with multiple approaches in the topics addressed, in addition to identifying gaps in the scientific production regarding the teacher, professional performance and training, swimming in the school environment and motor behavior of practitioners. Identifying this fact allows the development of investigations on less explored themes, producing and deepening scientific research.
