Fault Reconstruction and Tolerance of Five-Phase Current-Source Drive System
There is an emerging solution in high-performance drive system by applying the current-source inverter (CSI). Several merits like reinforced harmonic suppression, lower common-mode interference, and getting rid of dc-link capacitor make CSI an appealing alternative for conventional voltage-source inverter (VSI). Compared with three-phase CSI, the multiphase CSI can be an upgrade, which is further supplemented with fault tolerance capability under circuit faults. In this letter, a comparison on the open-circuit vector space reconstruction is conducted between the five-phase CSI and five-phase VSI. The fault-tolerant space vector control of five-phase CSI is proposed. The experimental results are presented to verify the proposed control schemes.
