First, considering the phenomenon of multimode operation and the multiple equilibrium points caused by degradation of aero-engine performance, a switched affine model is established to describe AECSs. Third, by co-designing a dynamic output feedback switched affine controller and a switching director, a criterion is developed to ensure the RBT performance and the <inline-formula xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"><tex-math notation="LaTeX">$H_{\infty }$</tex-math></inline-formula> property, which may not be shared by the affine subsystems. Finally, effective simulation verification is performed on an aero-engine hardware-in-the-loop platform and a semi-physical platform to validate the established <inline-formula xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"><tex-math notation="LaTeX">$H_{\infty }$</tex-math></inline-formula> RBT control approach.
