An Availability-Oriented Dynamic Group Order-Maintenance Scheduling Policy
In complex multi-component systems, the interdependencies among components, each with its unique operational characteristics and failure modes, present significant challenges for efficiently scheduling and managing maintenance activities. This paper introduces a dynamic grouping-based order-maintenance scheduling strategy, aiming to enhance system availability by combining maintenance policies at both the component and system levels. The framework captures the time relationships between different maintenance actions, supporting real-time scheduling adjustments according to system status and component malfunctions. By integrating preventive and opportunistic maintenance strategies, the approach ensures components are serviced at appropriate intervals while minimizing operational interruptions. Numerical simulations reveal that the proposed strategy surpasses conventional approaches by shortening maintenance durations and boosting system availability. The findings underscore the necessity of coordinating maintenance scheduling with spare part management, particularly in systems featuring tightly coupled components.
