Linear Active Disturbance Rejection Control of Yarn Winding Tension Based on Improved Whale Optimization Algorithm

To address the issues of nonlinearity, time-varying characteristics, and external disturbances in tension control for yarn winding systems, this study proposes a novel control scheme. Firstly, a mathematical model of the unwinding end is established. Based on this model, a tension controller for the yarn winding system is designed by incorporating the theory of linear active disturbance rejection control (LADRC). Secondly, an improved whale optimization algorithm (WOA) is adopted to optimize the controller parameters. Specifically, By utilizing the Logistic chaotic map, the diversity of the initial population is increased, laying a solid foundation for the optimization steps. Meanwhile, the combination of a nonlinear convergence factor and inertia weight parameter effectively enhances the algorithm's performance during both global and local search phases. Furthermore, the introduction of the Cauchy operator to mutate individuals trapped in local optima significantly strengthens the optimization capability of the algorithm. Finally, verified through simulation experiments, the controller designed in this paper demonstrates rapid response and high-precision dynamic control characteristics even in complex environments with external disturbances and noise. This provides an effective solution for tension control in yarn winding systems.
