Research on Frequency Regulation Control of Wind-Solar Power Stations Based on RTDS Simulation and MPC Algorithm
In this paper, a coordinated FM control strategy for wind power plants based on model predictive control (MPC) is proposed and validated by RTDS real-time simulation platform. The designed MPC control algorithm uses a 20-step prediction time domain and a 5-step control time domain to achieve the optimized coordination of the wind turbine, photovoltaic and energy storage systems. It is shown that the method improves 51.4% in frequency recovery speed and 27.1% in control accuracy over the traditional PI control. In the complex working condition test, the average system frequency recovery time is 1.78 seconds, and the worst case is 2.35 seconds, and there are few secondary oscillations. The control strategy can effectively cope with the fluctuation of wind and light resources and grid disturbance, ensuring the system frequency regulation performance and stability.
