One-Pot Coproduction of High-Value-Added γ-Cyclodextrin and myo-Inositol from Nonfood Cellulose Using an In Vitro ATP-Free Enzymatic Biosystem

γ-Cyclodextrin (γ-CD) and myo-inositol (inositol) are widely used in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food industries. Herein, three modules were constructed for the coproduction of γ-CD and inositol from cellulose using an in vitro multienzymatic biosystem. Regenerated amorphous cellulose (RAC) was converted to γ-CD and inositol via a cascade reaction using seven enzymes. The productivity of γ-CD and inositol synthesized from RAC reached 300 g/m3·h and 1.23 kg/m3·h, respectively. This in vitro enzymatic cascade for the coproduction of high-value-added γ-CD and inositol improves the atom economy of cellulose utilization.
