Executive coaching has become a crucial strategic tool for enhancing organizational performance and developing leadership. This study aims to analyze the current status of domestic executive coaching research through a scoping review and to provide evidence for future research directions. For this, nine articles were selected according to the PRISMA-ScR stage, and the results were derived. The analysis revealed the following key findings. First, the research topics covered various aspects such as the concept of executive coaching and surveys of its current state. Second, the research methodology included empirical studies such as survey research, narrative research, case study, Delphi analysis, questionnaire survey, and literature reviews. Third, the study determined executive coaching was found to have a positive effect on both individuals and organizations as well as identified its main challenges and new opportunities. Executive coaching was identified as a vital tool that contributes to enhancing organizational performance, leadership development, and expansion in the global market. However, challenges remained such as a lack of time and resources for sustainable coaching implementation, environmental constraints, and the absence of clear process and behavioral guidelines. This study is significant as it systematically reviewed domestic executive coaching research using the scoping review method and suggested directions for future research. It also emphasized the importance of examining executive coaching across various industries and cultural backgrounds to derive more generalized results. The study suggested further research to verify long-term effects and derive specific results and improvement plans through cases of executive coaching applications.
