Summary of Chinese Academic Community Research on the East Asian Travel Records of the Joseon Dynasty in the Past Twenty Years

In the past two decades, Chinese academic community has conducted considerable research on the East Asian travel records of the Joseon Dynasty. Its scope includes the travel records of China, Japan, Vietnam and Ryukyu. Its themes involve document, history, literature, language, cultural exchange and other fields. Its research methods are quite diverse. Its positive impact has spread to multiple disciplines such as Chinese and history. The study of travel records during the Joseon Dynasty in the Chinese academic community began with documents review and organization. The theme of historical research is characterized by the travele records of late Joseon in China from the perspective of intellectual history, China experience and observation, and the overall investigation of the diplomatic delegation. Cultural exchange research focuses on the two-way communication from Korea peninsula to China and from China to Korea peninsula. Research on the travel records of Japan, vietnam and Ryukyu during the Joseon Dynasty Being able to observe cultural exchanges and diplomatic activities between Korea and Japan, vietnam, Ryukyu from a Chinese perspective. Its viewpoints, methods, and interests differ greatly from those of the Korean and Japanese academic community. One of the problems with the existing achievements of Chinese academic community is Insufficient mastery of basic documents and foreign research results. Only on the basis of fully grasping newly excavated documents and newly published papers, A true East Asian perspective can be achieved in Chinese academic research and to engage in more in-depth academic dialogue with foreign academic communities. 近二十年來, 中國學界對朝鮮時代東亞行紀做出了相當多的學術研究: 其範圍包括中國行紀、日本行紀和“安南行紀”“琉球行紀”, 其主題涉及文獻、歷史、文學、語言、文化交流等領域, 其研究方法頗爲多樣, 其積極影響波及中文、歷史等多個學科。 中國學界對朝鮮時代中國行紀的文獻研究以考辨、整理爲特色, 歷史研究以思想史視域中的朝鮮後期中國行紀、中國體驗與觀察、燕行使團整體考察爲特色, 文化交流研究則關注從朝鮮到中國、從中國到朝鮮的雙向交流。朝鮮時代日本行紀、“安南行紀”“琉球行紀”的相關研究, 能從中國視角觀察朝鮮與日本、安南、琉球的文化交流與外交活動, 其觀點、方法與韓日學界的研究迥異其趣。 從總體來看, 中國學界現有成果的問題之一就在於對基本文獻和國外研究成果的掌握還不到位。只有在充分把握新發掘文獻、新發表論文的基礎之上, 中國學界才能實現真正的東亞視角的學術研究, 才能與外國學界進行更加深入的學術對話。
