PERFIL DE LESÕES MUSCULOESQUELÉTICAS EM CORREDORES AMADORES DO MUNICÍPIO DE CÉU AZUL - PR

This study aimed to identify the profile of musculoskeletal injuries in amateur runners in the city of Céu Azul, Paraná, considering the frequency, the affected areas, the demand for treatment, and the physical and emotional impacts. The problem investigated was the high incidence of injuries among amateur runners and the low adherence to rehabilitation, which can compromise performance and continuity in sports practice. This is a field research, with a cross-sectional design, quantitative approach, and convenience sampling. Online questionnaires were applied to 26 runners, aged between 18 and 60 years, who had been running for at least six months. The results showed that 53% of women and 44% of men reported injuries, predominantly in the knees and ankles. Only 15% underwent physical therapy after the injury, and 32% reported feeling pain during training. A decrease in performance and mood changes associated with musculoskeletal complaints were also observed. The discussion indicated that the low demand for rehabilitation and the persistence in practicing with pain highlight the need for preventive actions and physiotherapy monitoring. It is concluded that promoting adequate guidance and preventive strategies is essential for a safer, more effective and lasting sports practice.
