Pengaruh Lingkungan Sosial Terhadap Perilaku Penggunaan Rokok Elektrik (VAPE) Pada Siswa Di SMKN 5 Sidenreng Rappang

This study aimed to examine the influence of the social environment—including family, peers, and the smoke-free school policy—on students’ behavior regarding electronic cigarette (vape) use at SMKN 5 Sidenreng Rappang. A quantitative method with a cross-sectional design was employed. A total of 96 students were selected using cluster random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and interviews, then analyzed using univariate, bivariate, and simple regression techniques. The results showed that the family environment significantly influenced vape use behavior (p= 0.015), as did peer influence (p= 0.030). However, the smoke-free school policy did not show a significant effect (p= 0.796). These findings suggest that interpersonal factors such as family and peer relationships play a more dominant role in shaping students’ vaping behavior compared to formal institutional policies. It is recommended that preventive efforts involve both family engagement and peer-based interventions in addition to enforcing school regulations.
