INTERVENCIONES DIGITALES EN FIBROMIALGIA Y TRASTORNO BIPOLAR: VARIABLES CLÍNICAS Y MANEJO DEL DOLOR
The management of Bipolar Disorder (BD) and Fibromyalgia (FM), chronic conditions with a high prevalence and impact on public health, has traditionally focused on specialized interventions. However, the multifaceted nature and frequent comorbidity between BD and FM require more comprehensive and accessible approaches. This chapter explores the synergy between innovative community mental health strategies and digital technologies to optimize the management of these conditions. The effectiveness of digital interventions, comorbidity-adapted group psychoeducational programs, and technologically enhanced community support networks in stabilizing symptoms, preventing relapse, and improving self-management and quality of life is examined. The challenges inherent to implementation are also analyzed, including accessibility, equity, privacy, and integration with traditional services. The community mental health model, by offering care in the individual's environment and fostering social inclusion, complements the capabilities of digital technology for remote monitoring, remote therapeutic interventions, and expanding social support. The synergistic integration of both approaches presents significant potential, although it requires addressing the digital divide, ensuring data security, and achieving effective interoperability with healthcare systems. The need for longitudinal research to evaluate the long-term effectiveness of these integrated models is highlighted, especially in the TB-FM comorbidity population, with the goal of developing personalized, evidence-based interventions that substantially improve clinical outcomes and quality of life.
